    Mamba MonsterX8s

Thinking of putting a Mamba Monster8s in a Cheetah single. Anyone have any experience putting one of these in a boat? Tell me!
    Thanks,

    Hello Wayne,

Yes the X8s is good for about 250-300A. Pretty amazing for such a small package. Water cooling adapters should be coming soon from Stump Fab.
Between 300-350A they start to limit power.

I over propped one of my boats with an X8s in it. I was trying to see what a motor would handle.

When I looked at the data, a big yellow colored section came up at the top of the screen that said , you have exceeded the capability of the amp sensor, it registered 333 amps, CONTINUE DOING THIS AND PERMANENT DAMAGE TO THE ESC WILL RESULT!!!

So I think 300 must be their suggested max, and I shoot for 270 -280 as my limit, so that I have a little extra wiggle room.

Don, can you run for more than 20 seconds at these current levels based on your testing with the X8S?

I can't say for positive Tyler but I really do think so. That's only a couple of laps and I think we ran it in the 270 - 280 range for 6 laps one Sunday.

Seems like the highest temps we have seen was 140* F

Any guesses on when this might happen, Tyler?

No, I know Gabe sent me a shot of the first machining steps, but that was before Xmas. He is a busy guy with other work that takes priority so I try not to pester him too much.

Well, until one is stumpfabbed, I found something I’ll be trying:

The area to cool is 40x50mm but this is the closest I have found.

Actually, I just remeasured and it’s 40x30mm.. that cooler won’t fit

                              Jesse,
Like Jaike5 sez, I can make you a cooler and send it to you, if you like. Or I can mod your esc, just send it to me. Or I can buy an ESC and mod it for you. Either way, it will cool much better than a plate cooler, because I leave half of the fins and put water directly on the fins that are still there.
