Copper or Nylon break off bolt, which would be the best option to use?

The best I recall, 8 of my 9 have nylon.

I use nylon on most of my smaller boats (45" and under). Bigger boats with bigger rudders, sometimes need brass because the the nylon shears prematurely. Really depends on the design of the rudder though. Case in point, the 56" Genesis has a brass shear bolt and is near impossible to break, which has caused damages to some hulls. I replaced it with a nylon bolt and it was a much safer setup. I tried to run a nylon bolt in my 48 ZelosG conversion, but it would break with nothing but normal running. I had to replace it with brass.
