The thicker the material is, the heavier the texture is going to be. When starting from scratch, you start with a thinner cloth for finer detail. This thinner layer is the exterior layer you see. If you're using carbon fiber cloth on the outside, you have a lot to work down. (I'm guessing you used 3k cloth.) This will more than likely break the fibers which really defeats the purpose of using carbon fiber. It was definitely a better option to place it inside the hull. You either need to apply a few thin layers of glass that you can sand down, or.....start sanding.

just a little update, finally got to put some paint down, little wet sanding, think im going to lay a strip of vinyl pinstrip to hide the transition of the repair then clear coat over everything. Definitely patients is key im learning.1C0DEE7E-6696-4C3A-98FB-88F567FFA510.jpgComment

ok, did the clear coat, ill wait a fee days and i’ll attach all the hardware, have to decide to use a nylon shear screw on the rudder or not, obviously the screw thats there didnt help avoiding this whole mess.Comment

all back together and took it for a spin, ran great no issues thank god. Ran it for about 5 minutes, is it true that if you run it partial throttle mixed with a little full throttle puts mote strain on ESC then just running it at full throttle the whole time?Attached FilesComment
