    Antenna wire broke

Lost power in the lake, good Samaritan in his fishing boat picked it up by the antenna, broke the wire. Only about 4" left. Can you splice the wire together. Receiver is an older Futaba crystal type R152JE. Any info on repairing or replacing.

32? Thought I should keep it as close to the original length.

I would if it was that long. That's why I asked. It's only 12" max, haven't measured the actual yet.

Thanks, got a little worried when I was told it was 32. Did measure it and it was about 20 long. Minus the 1/2" to splice it back together

You are fine, this is not an exact science. 75MHz wavelength is 1016" (4m metric) and these are at 1/64 which is roughly 16", a couple inches are for routing etc.
                Enjoy the ride.
