    lipo's question in series

esc rated for 6s. If I install a 3s and a 4s in series with same mAh could I expect problems.

Basic math should tell you "yes", and for two simple reasons. First, the ESC is only rated for 6S, and what you're proposing is 7S. You fry it, it won't be covered under warranty. Second is that your NEVER want to mix packs of different 'S'.

      Yes, you can expect problems.

      3+4=7, 7>6.

While you can't mix cell counts in a parallel configuration, in a series configuration like the OP stated it would be fine (if they had an ESC rated for the the voltage).

I buy 2 2S 5000 and 2 4S 5000 packs from the same manufacturer a same C rating. This gives me 3 4S setups or two 6S. Add 2 3S 5000 (in series) and you get another 6S 5000 or 3S & 4S to make 7S; Done this without issues. Again same brand and C rating. The 2 4S will also make an 8S. Lots of possibilities for different boats
