    Quick question for a rookie

I had a quick question, When replacing the Collet or coupler on a pro boat should I bottom out the Collet on the motor shaft.. Or should I pull it out some after it bottoms out before tightening the grub screw? I understand I leave a shafts width between the strut face and the drive dog... Anything else I should pay attention to when assembling this would be much appreciated.
    Thank you in advance

I put them on as far as they'll go with the only concern that they not bottom out against the motor can, including the rotor axial play, if any. Sometimes there are other factors like being able to access a grub screw through a full face motor mount, so the collet needs to be slid forward a little more.

Thanks for your comment, yes after I looked at it again I realize there is not much to it. That's what I originally looked for, was it rubbing the can but there was no issues at all of it rubbing even with it bottomed out. Plus Steve replied to me via email made the same reference.

It's the blackjack 24 I'm setting up for my boy. My plan was to run it box stock then replace the shaft/ strut assembly and prop to compare any differences if any at all. I did notice when comparing length between the OSE shaft and the stock, the OSE shaft is about 3/8 longer. And I was comparing the actual flex cable part and referencing them from the same point. I know it doesn't matter after that whether the prop sits out the little further but being the rookie that I am, I didn't know how that would affect things but I will cross that bridge when I get there. Sure it's not a big deal. Thanks to everyone for the help and guidance.
