The Xl seems to perform poorly in initial testing potentially due to the additional step in the hull, and the hull is not very high quality or true. It seems flighty but very wet in turns. May need more testing or bottom changes. The original Cheetah in CF is very nice and a proven performer but the hull layup almost too light IMO.

Dang I was really looking forward to getting the Cheetah XL, I guess I’ll just get the CF version since I planned on getting that one first. Now when you say the CF version is light so you mean it wants to lift up?

I have the smaller 34" carbon fiber Cheetah. It's a typical TFL carbon layup, thin, but with excellent, sharp corners on the ride surfaces. Mine is reinforced along the interior seams and at the hardware attachment points a the rear. It's setup as a P Limited 4S twin, handles great in rough water. It runs probably low to mid 50's. I have no plans for further reinforcement because I don't feel it's necessary. The original layup is pretty rigid due to body contours and angles in the right spots.
