Here is a Lipo pack that has a volt/amp equivalent to the old 6 cell NiMH packs, with better performance, for less money.

Note that unlike the majority of LiPo cells their burst rating is only 20% higher than the constant rating - most reputable cells have a burst ~100% higher than the constant rating. This makes me wonder whether these cells have a very high internal resitance, or if the 25C rating is just BS. They may actually be equivalent to hobby-grade NiMH cells, or not, only testing will tell. I guess the bottom line is, do you get what you pay for? They are cheap....

That is an excellent price though... It does make you wonder how they will hold up.
I mean really, 7.4v 4000 mah, under $30!!!!!

Like a NiMh, I would limit your setup amps to 80. Lipo's will not take the abuse of a NiMH. Maybe someone will test one.ReddyWatts fleet photo
