Just like the title, does anyone use AAA's for BEC?

I use AA in most my setups. I dont see why AAA will not work.

Just an FYI..."BEC" stands for "Battery Elimination Circuit" and using pencells is perfectly fine for powering rx and servos but technically is not using a "BEC"
      hope this illuminates

        I know I know

        You got the concept though!

I use either AA or AAA for powering my receivers and servos. No problem with either.

Thanks for the feedback. Hopefully I'll have space for the AAA's, LOL.

Why not try AAAA batteries if space is a concern?

AAA = 44.5 mm in length and 10.5 mm in diameter
AAAA = 42.5 mm long and 8.3 mm in diameter

I am not familiar with the mah capacities for AAAA batts. Do they make nimh rechargables with higher mah?

I just buy alkalines. You can buy Duracells and Energizers in large quantities from the big stores for very little. It's a lot cheaper than using rechargeables and you don't have the hassle of having to charge them. Also I believe there's a greater chance of losing control of a model with rechargeables as they tend to die very suddenly rather than gradually.

I'm not familiar with AAAA batteries. The AAA Duracell alkalines I use in my receiver packs last a very long time.

One 9 volt battery has six AAAA cells hidden inside.

I use Ni-Mh rechargeable 5 cell packs...why....better for the enviroment....less weight...a better electrical contact than a cheap AA 4 cell holder. Li-po is also a good choice with a voltage limiting device for 2S

NIMH packs require cycling during off season. So I like NICD packs for receiver use...no cycling.

That's a good point. I had a battery pop out of the holder from rough water during a race. My boat stopped and I was later hit by another boat as well.

I'm glad someone is thinking about the environment.

(while I'm letting the fumes from Corrosion X dissipate outside) LOL!

Why not just run a BEC module ,less weight and it will supply a far better regulated voltage then what a Rx pack would.

You also dont have to recharge or replace it after so many runs, I run BEC in all my boats and have never had an issue. Is there a reason why so may people dont use it ?
