    MHZ/MMP Trident F1 experience?

    Hi guys..

Anybody on here who has experience with the MHZ/MMP Trident F1 hull?
Hard to find anything about it. Builds, pictures and so on..

Just got one (a MHZ), with the outboard Z-drive for 10mm E-motor, and motor cover.
Nice little set, but i need some inspiration where to mount different stuff :)

I have absolutly no experience with this type of hull. But if you have to use a heavy outborder to get the COG right. There may only be the MHZ outborder. It is limited to 4 kw.

      Hi Nevs.

I dont need to use a functional outboard.
I have seen a couple of boats with just a Rudder and drive like on any other single prop hull. But to be honest, it just looks sexy with a working outboard 😁

The 4kw Max, is what MHZ guarantee.
I was at first a bit worried about it, as they do recommend the MHZ Scorpion 5035 motor for the drive. But thats a 5,8kw.
But after a quick mail, it was clear to me the 4kw is all day/all year/forever running.
The drive can withstand more, but it is important to do service checks often then. And keep that oil fresh.

What i do like very much about this hull, is all that room in the belly.
Lots of room for big battery and Electronics. And room for COG adjustment via lipo sleds.

And finally, easy to make pretty watertight by adding a lid under the canopy 🙂

If you want it more scale like you could also use a sterable strut like the WD200 and combine it with the mhz motor hatch..Or make a hatch from scratch that looks like you want it to.

F1 hulls are not that popular in the FE world.
This is because these hull design has a tendency to become airborne above a certain speed. You can adjust the COG forward to counter act this, but this affects handling.
I have a Tenshock F1, which is a 700 MM hull. I have upgraded the cooling system, power system, and put in a battery sled. I have not put it on the GPS yet, but my guess is I go about 45 MPH where I run into these problems where it wants to take flight. It does handle great.
If I could start over, I would have gotten a slightly larger hull with a similar (but nicer) 45 degree drive system, the TFL Caldwell F1
Cheetah, Super Rio, (Mod) Starship (Mod and sold),

I allready got the outboard drive and motor hatch/cover. But I will make my own as the original isnt scale true. Waaay too small for the hull and drive.

My biggest concern is also to find the balance between planing and flipping.
So i am going to use lipo sleds and movable ballast weights.

                    Hi Frank,
I just ordered a MHz Trident F1 hull and x drive outboard with a 5035 motor. Can you give me any tips on my build ? Also can you send me some pics of your boat .
                    Thanks
