I want to build a 39" / 1 meter catamaran with a twin setup, I need help to choose between those :

    2 x 4S, 3660 - 2400kV motors

    2 x 5S, 4060 - 1900kV motors

    Thx

What is your goal for this project, speed, sport, racing?

Those are not very robust motors for a 39" cat.

4060 1900kv 5s would be the better option. Is the 4060 a tp motor?

If yes. That is a very good motor.

          Motors are fine, 2 x NEU 1512 - 1900kV and 2 x Tenschock 3660 2400kV.

          @Speed3 , you prefer 5s batteries, right ?

Have you already dropped your carbon monohull project Alain ?
It takes place on a shelf to store a 39" catamaran, take care !

One day, you will build your own boat, I know about it, don't give up

                5s with a 1900kv would have a lot of advantages over 4s and a 2400kv.

You would have a little longer runtime.

Secondly the lower kV would hold rpm better underload resulting in higher speeds.

So a faster boat with additional runtime and cooler electronics is the benefits of choosing the 1900kv, 5s route.

Thanks Sppeed3, 5s batteries look better imho. A single question is about the weight ...

Sometime back I ran a leopard 4092 2080 kV on 4s in a revolt and an m545. The best I saw on GPS was 48mph.

I also ran the leopard 4092 1730kv in the same boat on 5s with the same m545 and my best was 54mph on GPS.

I think this is kind of similar to which to pick, a 2400kv and 4s or a 1900kv and 5s.

Here is the typical setup for a MHZ Mystic 114 cm, 2 x 7S and 2 x NEU Motors 1521.

                      So on a 100 cm catamaran 2 x 5S look right with 2 x NEU Motors 1512 - 1900kV.

A cat in the 100cm range would run well with 1512 motors. But if 4082 same size as tp 4050 or 1521 motors were available I would prefer that size over 1512 size motors.

Yes but 1512 are NEU Motors and I use 2 Motors, high quality, enemy of the performance is the weight, I hope this is a good setup ...
