    Hatch tape

What, besides OSE's Hatch tape, do you guys use to seal your boats before runs. I've read that electrical insulation tape would also work, that true?

alot of tapes works. but i have found that most of them tend to leave some resedue when you remove it again. but in a pinch everything that keeps it dry works.

What does not leave a residue?

Good quality (3M) electrical tape works for me. Lots of colors to match with the boats I have.
              Never any residue.

Then the hull probably wasn't prepped correctly or the primer and the paint do not work well together. I know that one as I just stripped my brand new 1/16th scale hydro down to bare wood as the paint did not bond well with the Krylon rattle can primer I used

I use 3m clear electical tape from walmart, its like $2. Leaves no marks, unless you leave it there for a few weeks. I use this because if I run out, I just go to walmart which is close to where I live, and plus the wife likes going there anyways.

The best tape I have used so far is Andover hockey tape. It is sold only at Great Skate hockey stores but I was lucky enough to find a guy with a bunch of cases and I bought them all

It is basically the same as the Renfew stuff that Steve sells but is less sticky. It won't peel the paint off even a poorly painted hull but still seals great and is very strong. The best part is it is very stretchy and will tape even the most stubborn curved hatch like a champ.
