    Good News Banggood.

Just thought I'd post this here too.

Here's a good news story. At least for me.

I ordered the Pursuit boat from Banggood some weeks ago because it was on special.
    https://www.banggood.com/TFL-Hobby-1...r_warehouse=CN

The box that arrived seemed a lot bigger than a 32" mono needed.
The reason being that a twin drive Zonda was in it.
    https://www.banggood.com/TFL-1040mm-...r_warehouse=CN

I was in a quandary. Should I keep it & say nothing? Or should I let them know, so they could freight it back & deliver the Pursuit?
I was not brought up by my parents to steal, and keeping it would be like stealing AU$445.00

I stewed on it for a while but then sent Banggood an email stating the situation, also saying that although the Zonda would be a nice boat to have, I couldn't afford the extra money..

I don't need a twin cat. I already have one that wins races in both the 4s & 6s classes at our club.
Truth be told, I don't really need a Pursuit either. I have 4 x EA 4s monos that I can race with. It was bought for the express purpose of trying different setups & configurations of motors, ESC's, & props etc, in the one hull.

Well Banggood have replied, apologizing profusely for the inconvenience. But stated that if I were to pay them US$50.00 (AUD$62.00) I could keep the Zonda.
I guess that's their break even point when all things are considered.

I thanked them sincerely & have just now forwarded the money.

I buy a lot of stuff from them. Not just boat stuff, but all sorts of things. And I shall continue to do so.

But now. What to do with the Zonda???
See the danger. THEN DO IT ANYWAY!!!

The Zonda is a nice catamaran, very easy on the water like the Tenscock Electra.

I don't think I will sell it. Not yet anyway, I've decided to get it running as a 6s cat & see what she can do in oval race trim. I've only ever seen videos of them doing the point & squirt thing. None of them actually racing. Always one for a challenge.

Speaking of honest and guilt free, what the hell has happened to this hobby in the few years I've been away?
Seems like everyone is always fighting about something or another either here or on the FB forums i belong to. No one can have a civil discussion anymore.
Look at the "for sale" thread and you've got guys backing out of deals and the FB forums are so crude I cant let my kid look at them.
May not be the right place to post but just struck a cord. Vent over.

I assume this portion is about me. I’m all about being a man of my word, but let me ask something... Is it fair to receive a shipping quote that turns out to be deceptive, when the total price is based on that shipping quote?
This is a hobby, and I’m not a billion dollar multi corporation business. I’m not here to screw anyone or get screwed over myself. I didn’t set a price and then think about the money I would be loosing and ask for more, I was simply trying to update the buyer that actual shipping price had changed and I couldn’t eat that amount.

When this info was passed on, I was responded to in a negative manner. With that type of reaction, why should I be expected to bend over backwards? If the response had been in a more understanding manner, I would have been compelled to splitting the difference and eating a little money for the sake of a fellow boater. That wasn’t the case, and I’m not amazon...
In reference to this instance, you can draw any conclusion about me that you would like. I’ve had plenty of good dealings in the RC community and this was the first transaction that did not complete smoothly.
From here on out when selling boats, I will stick to the original format that I attempted at the beginning of this sale. That was stating the for sale price, plus shipping cost. I had the box size, weight & zip code listed in the initial post. It will be up to the interested party to determine the shipping cost and I will concur with the price he determines prior to payment.

                          Respectfully,
                          Scott W.

In reference to this quote... Every one feels they are entitled to receive something for nothing. If you don’t get things your way, it’s ok to not be rationale until you do.
It’s the whole participation trophy concept...

It’s not really about you at all Scott. It’s more about the whole deterioration of the sportsmanship of the hobby in the last five years.
This stuff just didn’t happen back then. It would have been worked out like gentlemen before being publicly called out by either side.
People just snap so quickly now and turn into keyboard warriors in a heartbeat.
The worst is the fb forums that are to crude to let my kid enjoy forums connected to his hoppy.
As far as your deal goes, it doesn’t really matter to Me nor does the particulars, it’s just back then it would have been worked out between two guys that enjoy the same hobby. Money and being in the right wasn’t always first and foremost.

Agreed, back in the day these platforms didn’t exist. Everything was face to face or through a land line phone call.
