    Tunnel hull outboard height

Hey, I’m in the process of mounting an outboard onto a tunnel hull and am unsure of the proper mounting height. Is there a generally accepted rule of thumb regarding outboard height or does it vary with each build?

    -thanks, Mike

If you center the prop shaft with the line across the bottom of the sponsons you will be fine. From there go up and down 1/8th inch vertically with each prop and find the spot that works best.

I set mine so the adjustment is centerline prop shaft, 75% above sponson bottom an 25% below sponson bottom. My 3 tunnels all run with the centerline slightly above sponson bottom.
