    suggestions on removing silicone

Gents I have aquired a hull that has been just filled around the stuff tube with silicone. I have tried scraping, scraping with my fingers, wire brushing, and even tried a little heat. Oh and goof-off. This stuff just wont give. Usually silicone is very easy to remove but being in the spot its in I have had it. Any suggestions would be just awesome. There is really only a little left to go but its being a pain of course. Thanks much for any input.

Try using mineral spirits and rubbing alcohol.

There is silicone remover at our local hardware store. Not sure what it is made of though.

Try this and if it doesn't work well enough use a more aggressive solvent like brake fluid (takes quite some time to work but is safe for plastics) or lacquer thinner (but it may cause damage to parts you don't want to ).

Hmm, who would have known that stuff is soo flamable? Thanks guys, the alcohol seemed to have helped. It dried it out soo much that it rubbed away somewhat easily. Now I know. Thanks again.
