    Vs1 water cooling

Finally got my vs1 elect conversion almost done. I got my water cooling lines done and was wondering what I should do with the exit pipe. I’m using a kB 3.5 outdrive and was thinking about sticking it down where the exhaust used to be or just letting it come right off the motor cooling jacket. Any thoughts on this?

I have the same 3.5 KB outdrive converted on a WOF tunnel....ran the outlet down the old exhaust ....no problem at all....How did you set up the water pickup..? Just one on the outdrive on the cavitation plate..? Or another pickup somewhere else..?

I’m using the one that was on it. Hoping it will be sufficient enough to supply water. I haven’t ran it yet so I’m not sure. I did test it in the bathtub just to test it out and water was flowing thru the tubes pretty good.

Nice to have it somewhere you can check for water coming out when you do a drive by.

Ya, I was thinking the same thing. I think I’m gonna cut a short piece and run it straight off the jacket

Hey jim82 what’s your setup and how does your boat sit in water. Mine is heavy in the rear so the back end of the boat is in the water. What I mean is water comes up on the sides a few inches or so.

On all my tunnels I like to have a piece of tubing hanging on left side so it is in plain sight on the front straight. On my Vs1 I put the servo in very rear of hull out side the H20 proof box connected with short stout 440 rods, we will see just how water proof that servo is, every thing else is in water proof box with battery up front for CoG.

Jim my setup is about the same as yours. I’m going to the lake on Friday so it will be sink or swim will see I guess.

I hope mine runs half that good. I’m starting out with 3s till I get used to it. Motor is a 3660 2600 kv I’m not sure on the prop it came on the outboard I’m guessing a Prather 215 or 220.

Ok I've been looking my cooling setup over and I ran a line from the pickup into the boat to the esc than back out the of the boat and into the top of the motor jacket and out the bottom. I'm thinking I need to reverse the lines to the motor jacket so that it enters from the bottom and exits out the top. If I leave it the way it is now the water is going the jus go in the top a shoot right out the bottom and not really cool the motor. I'm I right on this.
