DF Cyberstorm 33 or TFL Pursuit

I run Pursuits in P-lim and P classes. I also have a NIB bare Cyberstorm hull, that I may want to set up to replace my well-worn P boat. I have compared the hull bottoms and can't find any differences. Am I missing something?

I always thought that the Pursuit bottoms were copies of the DF hulls.

Someone said they were a bit different.

Is the V actually the same?

I've heard that the bow is slightly different.

If a hull is copied you only need to alter the copy of the original by a certain percentage to make your copy legal. so the running surface of a copied hull can be exactly the same as the original and you just alter the top side areas that percentage . thats what they are doing to most well named brand hulls.

The Pursuit and Cyberstorm are the same length and beam. The V angle is the same. The strakes are the same. But, the Pursuit has slightly wider chines. Does anyone know if the chine width has much of an effect on the speed or stability?

I did a bit of a thread on them when I built one of each simultaneously a few years ago. I don't think the slightly wider chine on the Pursuit has any significant effect over the narrower one on the Cyberstorm.

See the danger. THEN DO IT ANYWAY!!!

I met Mr. Ke from TFL in Toledo. He claimed that the Delta iss a copy of his but who knows. They're very similar.

                Paul,

I remember that thread. Hard to believe it's over 4 years ago.

anyone know where I can buy a good or new pursuit w/ hardware? Got out of the sport a few years ago and thinking of starting up again and really liked my pursuit. Used to be able to buy them several places cheap but now they seem to be at a premium. Would also consider a DF
