    Hyperion Duo firmware update

    Hey guys,

I finally got my cables to update my hyperion duo firmware. Has anyone done this yet? I know that Raydee has been on top of all of the updates and such for the Duo. I have read the instructions and they are a little confusing... but, I should read thru them again. So, to my question, has anyone done this update yet and willing to share there experences?

    Thanks
    Mike

Mike just follow the instructions word for word and you will be golden. The MOST IMPORTANT thing is don't unplug the power to your charger while it is updating or you will def Brick the charger.

        Well,

I finally was sitting down to update the firmware on my Duo, but it looks like they will be releasing a new version on 12/3/08. The crappy thing is they won't let you install the older versions. Now I am stuck waiting again...

Oh yeah... it's pretty retarted that they charger you $20.00 for the USB cables and such, but can include the extra $2.00 (modified servo extension) cable necessary to update the charger. This kind of little crap really gets me steaming.....

LOL... I finally got a chance to use the smilies to really express my opinion....

For those of you interested, I did get my DUO updated to the V1.9 firmware. As Raydee mentioned, as long as you follow the instructions everything when fine. One thing I did do is use a laptop from work because it had Windows XP on it. I will a little leary to use my 64 bit Vista OS for the upgrade.

the "Storage" option is what I was looking for, and it work great.

I've had no issues doing the updates using my laptop running Windows Vista.

                Guys,

What do these updates buy you?? My chargers seem to work fine the way they came? Is it worth the hassle of "upgrading"?? Do you have to reprogram all the memory positions again??

Can someone give a quick description of what it takes to install these updates??

                Thanks,

I don't know what version yours is running, but mine was at V1.1 and they are now up to V1.9

#1 you will need to install the USB Driver http://media.hyperion.hk/dn/pc/prgusb-drv.htm

#2 you will install the new Firmware http://media.hyperion.hk/dn/pc/EOS0610iFIRMUP.pdf

#3 this will list the updates starting at V1.5 up to V1.9 http://media.hyperion.hk/dn/eos/EOS-...-ManUpdate.pdf

My biggest reason for updating was they added a very small discharge rate that can be found at the SYNC/SOLO menu for battery storage.

Yes, they actually made some important changes to the charging algorithms and some other features that improve the reliability and operation of the charger.

There are other changes as well that improve the ease of use and so on. Beyond that I think it is always worth having the most up to date firmware running your equipment.

                    No.
