Revolt 30" or?

Hi All. I am interested in purchasing another RC boat.....I had the PB BJ 29 and it was a blast. Sold it after a couple years due kids,work,etc and didnt use it much after my wife had ou first baby.

I want to purchase another boat and was looking at the AC Revolt 30", but also interested in learning more about self-righting boats. Do they make self-righting RC boats in the 30" range? Also, how prone is the Revolt flipping over? My BJ 29 flipped a few times, luckily for me I live on a pond here in Plymouth,Ma and have access to my canoe. But having a self-righting boat would eliminate the aggravation of grabbing the canoe for recovery. I know PB makes a self-righting in the 24" range but dont really care for the design and aesthetics of the boat. Is there anything else out there over 24"?

Have you ever heard of the Pro boat Veles 29? It is taking the place of the discontinued Pro Boat BJ29/MG29 boats. Below is a video that I found on YouTube of one.

That new PB looks fast. I do however want a mono-hull this time.....I found cats are susceptible to catching the wind and flipping. Are you Revolts prone to flipping over? those self-righters you posted are EXPENSIVE but look nice

If you don't like the PB Recoil 26...You could look into the Atomik Barbwire XL for a 24" shelf righting. May have been dis-continued as I can't seem to find any for sale, but you may be able to save a search on ebay and stumble upon a used one for sale.

If you forgo the self-righting issue, I'd recommend a TFL Pursuit over the Revolt. Cost is a little more at $352, but well worth it. There are some deals out there if you look... just watch for what comes in the boat as far as motor, esc and/or servo. Some sell this boat with or without some of these items.

Are you saying you have a used one for sale and its missing parts?

That TFL looks sweet. What is the run-time? Also, my last two boats came with servos and receiver. How easy are these to install? Would any receiver/radio work?

Nah. It is a complete boat if interested lmk. You will love a pursuit though not self-righting but I have never flipped mine even at 64mph.

Your run time would depend on what mAh capacity batteries you go with. Similar situation to the revolt. Both boats would be best on 4S. I'd recommend two (2) 2S lipo batteries attached in series. Either boat you could expect about 5 to 6 minutes with 6,000 to 6,500 mAh. This would all be similar to the PB BJ 29 you had.

Radio and servo are no big deal. Here is a link to a $50 radio and $40 servo. Again you could find some slightly better prices with some looking and maybe even buying used off eBay. Get a waterproof servo and put the receiver in a balloon with a zip tie to help keep dry.

You will probably need to solder connectors on either the boat esc or whatever batteries you buy as well. It sounds like you may be a novice at these things so I'd recommend buying the boat and then taking it to your local hobby shop to purchase some batteries. Most hobby shops will provide a service of attaching some connectors for a fee of coarse. Could probably even just get your radio and servo there as well and they would most likely be helpful in helping you get set up.
If nothing else... YouTube can be a great source on learning things.
