Power plant for 21" Off Shore

I have a BBY 21" Oval Master Off shore and need some advice on powering this one. For a boat this size is a 2S pack suitable or should I run a 3Spack? I would prefer to use a 2S pack and a Leo 3650 2290KV. Would this be a good combination or should I consider a different KV? Originally this boat used a 540 size car motor. I was planning to use a Feigao 540 size motor with 4761 KV but I think it's too much motor for it even with a 2S pack.
Need to make a decision before I start the build.
    cheers

i think running this 2290 kv motor on 2s is not going to supply great rpms, this kv amount is more suited to 4s power so maybe you should consider running 3s with this 2290 motor or even go abit higher on the kv,s . you could try this 2s combo and go up to 3s if needed, just make sure the esc is capable of handling 3s power.

The leopard 3674 2650 or the 3300 3674 motor would be a better motor in my opinion for 2s and 3s. It will be more efficient than the 3650.

More speed with similar runtime or more runtime and similar speed.

If you are using a 1/8 shaft a octura x435 should be good for decent speeds in that size boat.

An ose raider 150 if you can find one would be a good ESC.

3674 is to much motor for that boat. I personally would get a Leo2860 or Tp2940 in the 4000kv area for 2s.what are your goals speed or longer runtime

I have to agree the 3674 would be too large for a 21" hull. I built one of these several years ago and ran it with a trinity 540 car motor so anything in a 540 size motor which would be 3650 size or maybe a tad smaller.
I did take a look at the Leo 2860 and it might fit the bill. the Feigao 4761KV motor is obviously a bit too hot for that boat and since I'm not going to be racing it as there are no clubs anywhere near where I live, It will be run in the river in front of my house. So the answer is as combination of speed and run time.
I suppose I could use a 3S pack but with the older boat I used a 7 cell Nimh with that 540 car motor.

            I am using a Tacon 2860 2550kv on 3s in a mini sniper with a m435/3 prop and getting 38mph.

Yep a 3674 motor is to much motor in a 21" boat, that's the same as putting a 3674 motor in an Atomic Barbwire XL (also 21" ).

I ran the same setup in a DF 23 but on 4s. It was a hoot!!! I'm building another because I missed it so much after selling. Same setup but the Leopard 2860 2550kv.
