    What to get...?

Getting back into hobby. Used to have a rio ep 6 years ago.

Now looking for something for a pond or a river.. (deep enough to not need jet drive).

Wanting something 35+mph capable and can handle decent chop..

Locally there is a brand new shockwave 26 rtr for 150 or an atomic barbwire (first gen not the second). The barbwire needs a rx and tx but comes with a 3s for 75..

I feel i need a deep v for some chop?

I keep getting drawn to the blackjack 26 but unsure it can handle the light chop or go 35+?

The aquacraft revolt 30 looks promising, but dont really wanna spend 330+ and 2 batteries..

    Help!

Revolt 30 is more of a capable boat and you can get one as low as $150 for a used one. You just missed one on RCG for $175 and it was like new. . .The Shockwave 26 is not a bad boat. It runs nice but I would recommend changing the stock 30A esc to something like a 120A or greater and with greater efficiency due to changing the esc, you'll see a better performance. So if you decide to get the SW 26 for $150 and decide to change the esc then you might as well buy a used Revolt 30. Post on the WTB section that you're looking for a Revolt 30 and someone might have one for you to buy and some will even have the upgrades.

If you decide to upgrade the ESC to 120 amp then Hobbyking has a sale on with the 120 amp Turnigy Marine (similar to the Seaking 120 amp but with additional capacitors) for around $50.00. I just purchased a Turnigy Marine 180A for under $80.00 ($108.00 Aud). Free shipping included.

Will the revolt do 40? Maybe with a prop upgrade?

I get close to 10 minutes on my DF29 Mono on 4s with 10,000mah. It has two, 4s 5000mah in parallel. It’s heavy in the boat, does about 40-45mph. I set it up that way because my friends new to FE boats like to drive something not too fast and easy to steer.

You have to Engineer the boat you want, not expect to buy it off the shelf. That’s what the forum is for, to help each other realize the boat they desire.

3-4 mins of straight driving is longer than you think

Absolutely even with the stock components. Just tune it properly and you'll hit 40mph. Also sharpen and balance your prop. you can also sharpen the blades on the turn fin as well as the rudder and you should hit 40mph and do it on turns! I have three with different setups. . .that's how much I like them.

You bet it is! When I set it up for long run time, normally three different drivers take turns. I put in two, 2s 5200mah in series when I want to go fast, with a M445 prop. The slow, long run setup uses a Prather B215 or Grimm 42X55. I got a Leopard 3674 2200kv motor in it...

Jacob jim82 is an experience boater and I'm sure his Revolt is set up nicely. Also G-UNIT is selling 3 boats and one of them is a Revolt. Someone doesn't want the Revolt but everything else. Perhaps all three of you could work something out.
