    lubrication question

    Hello all,
I'm new in r/c boating (just got my bj26), and i would like to know, what you guys are doing at the end of each day in order to keep your hardware from getting currosion (outdrive, rudder, prop ect.). what kind of lubrication you're putting on.
As for the flexshaft, i know i should lubricate it after each day, and i have the grimracer grease for it. as for the rest of the hardware i'm not sure.
    I really appreciate anyone's assistense.

I use WD40 to clean after each day... it is a MUST to avoid corrosion. A lot of guys will tell you they use Corrosion X, it is essentially the same but it does not smell nice, heheheh. You should use it on every piece of hardware that can get corroded... obviously the aluminum would be ok w/o it.

You should lub the flex every time you get her in and are planning in running again...

I use a greaser like the Grimracer one to lube my flex but add a little bit of a ptf oil that both Shimano and Abu sell for fishing reels, I use this on my motor bearings after every day. I also oil my rudder hinge. All my boats run very dry but if I get some H2O in there I blow out with the compressor and dry with my daughters hair dryer much to her disgust!!

I know that both Venom and Tamiya make oil specially for thrust bearings. As Heath said, it needs to be super thin.
Not too expensive either, try your local hobby supplier.

I use a mixture of that and marine grease for my drive shafts.

I use KY. It works great and is water proof.

You had me there for a second. I was scraching my head saying to myself. "I thought KY was water soluble."
