Hmmm, I think you mean “liner”, not stuffing tube. There is no real winner, it’s what makes you feel better. As far as stuffing tube lubricants, many opinions on that to.. I recommend searching on the forum for “stuffing tube lubricants” and check out the thoughts of many... -
as its designed not to fling off a chainsaw chain as opposed to normal oils it seems to lubricate flexshafts and bushings quite well and its still there after a few water runs. i started using this oil type approx 30 years ago in my glow and gas racing days and all lead teflon bushings seemed to last very well. oh, Sthil bar lube is the brand.Comment

Bar oil hmmm never thought of that. Things I've used, ha ha Harley Davidson axel, bearing grease that was a nice pretty shade of blue, tractor grease molly bla bla or something allseason red, that spray lube for dirt bike chains, and tubes of white lithium . I think that it lol.PROBOAT BlackJack 24", ShockWave 26"

I’m using ProBoat marine grease and 3 in 1 oil. I put a lip seal on the end of the strut so I don’t lose any grease. The machine oil thins out the ProBoat grease, which I think is too thick. But without a seal, it would leak out the back very fast. That chainsaw lube sounds like something to try...Comment

Thicker I think is good and if you say it's made not to fling off the chainsaw chain I think is great and will stay on the flex shaft longer which is good. How come I've never heard of this before. I'm certainly going to try it. I just wonder if it's too thick there is the possibility it might make the motor work a little harder to spin the shaft. . .but I'm definitely going to try it.Comment
