I purchased two of these believing they were just rebadged Hifei Swordfish HV 240 amp models, however, there are external differences like four cooling tubes (not eight as on the Hifei) and relocated capacitors. On the hifei the capacitors are exposed while on the Turnigy they are under the shrinkwrap. Perhaps the Turnigy is a release of an earlier Hifei model as it does not have datalogging (not important to me at this stage).
Also not obvious was the lack of reverse direction. Programming the Turnigy Aquastar could be an issue as per usual Hobbyking are out of stock of their dedicated programming box (looks similar to the Hifei model) and online instructions refer to a CD for software plus a supposedly included (but not included) "Y" lead needed to programme the ESC if using a computer.
The HV ESC is factory defaulted to 4s which does seem absurd as who would pay a premium to get a high voltage ESC and only use it on 4s. The Hifei programming card has fine print on the instructions that it cannot change the factory default setting from 12 volt when programming. Apparently it can change the other parameters. Thus one is limited to manual transmitter programming or hopefully achieve some joy with a computer. Had I known such limitations I would have shied away from both brands.
