    Linker or programmer?

Hifei and Turnigy both have a Linker and a programmer for their range of ESC (or rebadged ESC). What is the difference please between a linker and a programmer as online info seems rather vague (like a lot of Hifei and Turnigy products)?

Even though these products have been around for years it seems little to no information available. I get the impression the linker is for downloading data logged material but may have other uses like programming and updating.

yes i am pretty sure the Linker device is what you connect up with your pc, i remember Castle products have whats called a castle link for setting up escs and bec units . i have found the Turnigy Program Cards very simple to use with Turnigy escs.
can,t say which of the 2 are better but no doubt they both do there job for r/c boat set up.

I have the Turnigy programming box for the 120 and 180 ESC and yes they are simple to use (plug and play). However, the Turnigy Aquastar is probably simple if firstly the equipment was available to programme and secondly one was computer literate. I might have to count beeps on the transmitter method.

The Turnigy 'programmer' is also used to connect via usb to a computer but as usual for Turnigy products no information seems available. The Turnigy linker has a software download file which I have carried out but I need await the mandatory delivery period from China to get the linker to see what it does. Hifei have an exactly the same linker available.

i think you could need a different program card to suit the Aquastar . with boats there are only about 4 different esc / motor settings you need to program.
