    Questions/Interest in FE

Hey guys Allen here. I have a few questions. Im not new to boats but I am entertaining scrapping my 91 Cajun Bullet project and getting into FE. Ive had all kinds of boats (nitro and gas) since I began RC boating in 2005. Im not a racer, just a sport boater that likes to go fast. So ultimately, if I decided to go this route I would like something alongs the lines of a 45 Hydro which I believe would be a 6S Q Hydro or even something like a Phil Thomas Sport 40 FE. And speaking of Q Hydro, is there anything out there that is equivalent to a a 67 or even a 90 nitro Hydro? Ive got a gas mono that Im super pleased with so I would not be interested in an FE mono. Thoughts and opinions welcomed.

Hi Allen, have a look at ML Boatworks at there sport hydro kit hulls as well as the Whiplash sport hydro hull which is suited to 90 / gas power but would also make for a great electric powered hydro.

I checked out ML boatworks site and they look really nice. I had a Whiplash Sport 40 and a Whiplash fiberglass gas hydro. Nice boats also.....

I also look at Phil Thomas hulls. They non gel coated fiberglass.

            Hello Allen,

I would recommend a new build instead of trying to convert a nitro hull. The Phil Thomas hulls and ML kits are both good candidates for FE builds. ML also has a 6 cell hydro.
Otherwise there are very few racing quality kits are ready to race.

If you are very new to electric power systems in general I would recommend picking up one of the 4 cell RTR cats to just get familiar with the batteries and charging.

Tyler, thanks for the info. I wouldnt be converting the Hydro to electric Id be looking for something RTR minus batts/rx. Unfortunately, not a big fan of the cats as I have had 2 conquest cats before. Nice boats but Id rather have a sport hydro or rigger. Im pretty familiar with charging as I use a boris starter with 3S and I had a T-Rex heli that also used a 3S. Right now Im just kicking around the idea. I shoulda picked up that Taipan 6S rigger that Don had for sale over the summer but I had other irons in the fire at that time.

Understood. Have a look at the RSX380 outrigger from ML: http://woodrcboatkits.com/index.php/...plane-kit.html
