    SV27 Rebirth

    Hello!

I have a question that I can't really answer after looking on here for some time. I have had this boat for about 10 years. When I bought it, it did not use Lipo batteries. I would like to start running it again. I have 2S batteries for my truck that I could use for the boat. Should I just buy a new ESC and use the same motor and hardware for now? It is still basically stock and the hull is in good condition. I think there is a hairline crack in the transom, but that's it.

Please let me know your thoughts. Thank you for the help.

I would just get a couple 2s battery packs with 5000mah and at least 30c discharge designed for boats or helis.
If the esc still works, there's no need to replace it. You can use the boat packs in your truck, but using car packs in a boat may damage them.

OK! Thanks! Does the existing ESC have a cut-off, or would I need to just time the batteries basically! Again, thanks for the reply.

Time the batteries, there is no LVC for batteries on the factory ESC

I remember the 1st time I put LiPos in my SV 27...hit the throttle and it flipped over backwards....that was the start of a lot of crazy fun times with that boat.
