yes i must say the hockey tape does stick down well so if your paint job isn,t repaired properly , the tape can lift the paint. i suppose its not a bad idea to use the electical tape as there are quite a few different colours that can match you boat colour, i never thought it would stay stuck down as good as you guys say.

I crashed today, skidding across the water on the lid at 80+ mph. My bright yellow electrical tape help up just fine, and that was it's second use on that boat.

I didn't realize tape was such serious business, I'm still using the stuff sold in the ose store or from aeromarine with no issues... but I'm not sliding on my lid at 80mph

to be fair, some guys still like running their boats that require tape. like the ul1. not much you can do to get around that hatch other than tape.

I know. Kidding. I do have two boats that I have no choice but to use tape. But I did try to figure out something else.

a guy just lost his boat cause the lid wasn,t taped down , just clipped on. unfortunetly electronics and water just don,t make a match.

Some hatches are pretty easy to seal using a foam seal, unfortunately a lot are pretty much impossible to seal 100% due to design or shape of the hatch type.
