    Vac-U-Tug

Decisions, decisions, decisions. Vac-U or Zipp Kitts, pulled the trigger on Vac-U, Phil been great order shipped form Georgia to New York looking at this Monday.
Anyone has some inside info on this tug? Going to use this as a recovery rig & long day runner.
Third hull on the bench from scratch, need to clone myself.

I've had the Vac-U-Tug and still have a Vac-U-Tow that's been doing rescue work for a few years. The Tow is great, it fits in a toolbox that makes it super easy to pack.

Awesome pics, yep - recovery boat will be my intensions. From the homework I have done I'm told 7 hours run time on a 2S Lipo is this possible?
Might be a runner with my son's Alpha Patrol boat, 2S 5000 Venoms hardcase

We also use a vac-u-tug. Have it running on a 7 cell nimh 5000mah venom battery. Just a tad more speed. Ours is more simple, we tow a short length of floating fly line with a tennis ball. Do the wraparound and pull in! Floating line really helps.

I use one as well. I have the bigger brushed motor with the two blade prop and it pushes my bigger boats in fine. The stern rides very low in the water, so if you build a rescue raft for it, it needs to maintain that same attitude or the prop cavitates. I started with a ball and fishing line, but got it stuck in the prop and switched to the raft. I run mine on a 7 cell pack.

I'm using two 2200 mah 3s lipo's in parallel and have never used more than 25% rescuing for our clubs practice days.

There are different fly lines some float or sink or have different combinations of sink tips. Usually if it's a bright colour it's a floating line. If your buying a cheap one get a DT (double taper) so you can use both ends. The higher the # the thicker the line.
                My other hobby lol.

                  Good info, thanks.
Deciding between a pvc pipe / conduit system or a flotation device & drag line.
Me & fly fishing don't mix, wrestled an alligator once and he won, in New York of all places.

I use the pvc pipe rig most of the time, our pond can get weedy and the drag line can get hung up. I just switched the rig over to my Atlantic Tug that is repowered and modded quite a bit but it's faster and has more grunt to get out of the weeds.

Use the tug pulling the balsa float with hooks on it, floating fishing line. Circle dead boat, hooks on float catch the rudder and tow it in.

Yup, I won it at the Nats a few years ago and put a bunch of stuff in it, repowered with the Fireboat motor, servo controlled water cannons, sound, bilge pump, modified the keel for a bigger prop. It just about does a wheelie taking off. :) I was bored that winter lol.
