Nothing wrong with doing research for you job, I don't think anyone is belittling sport boaters. One of the best RC boaters I have ever met was a sport boater, if there was a class for his boat he would be the world record holder. I just think you would find you can have more fun while you gather that multi million pound data if you do, you will see when you go to Oscar's, I am glad you are open to giving it try.

FYI Naviga, Namba (and I think, but I am not 100% IMPBA) all have a 4.23v/cell maximum charge limit, for regular Lipos and to allow for chargers not to be 100% accurate, there has been no obsolescence due to HV LiPos in any FE boat racing organisation that I am aware of, and I see no signs of that changing in the foreseeable future.

Longballjumper's comment wasn't aimed at you, i guess it is a bit of a clique, but he and Doby, have probably had many weekends camped out together over the years, and become good buddies, as I have with lots of the folk this side of the pond. From the outside it may seem like they are busting each others balls, but it is all just banter in the best possible spirit. While most FE boaters I mix with are my buddies, I guess on a forum with lots of buddies on, it is easy to forget that not all FE boaters are buddies and strangers on the net may take banter the wrong way. If you met in person I expect you really would get on well with most of them. RC boating seems to be enjoyed by a much higher percentage of nice people than the other hobbies I have had, RC cars, shooting, diving or cycling.

Thanks Paul, I appreciate the words. You live in England? How did you get to know everyone? Oscar is coming to Tulsa tomorrow and introducing me to some other Tulsa boaters. I'm excited to meet him and other boaters! You are right, it is more fun to run with your mates. I tell ya, I got the electrics and mechanics down solid. I can fabricate, but never have been much of a driver... stresses me out! I was always the Crew Chief while my brother was the driver. So I'm used to being on the beach! I wish he lived closer to me, he would love driving the boat, I think.

Oh, a charging cap is a good way, didn't think of that...

Unfortunatley I have only met about half a dozen the people on here, maybe some day I will get to a big race in the states, but I know how it goes and have been on here and the red forum before it for long enough to have noticed the relationships between many of the people on here from the way they interact with each other.
