40" deep vee set up help

I'm wanting to convert my 40" AC Lazer mono to brushless and really don't have any idea where to start for electronics.
I was looking at the leopard 5692 motor but not sure if that's over kill or if you can have a motor that is too big' Looking for advice on set ups that are similar to this hull. Thanks in advance

Reach out to Jason Shedd (JMSCARD) on the board, he has been doing some really nice large scale FE builds like what you want to do.

Tell us what FE parts you already have. If you have nothing, this could get expensive, (aprox.$1500). What do you want the boat to do?

We have had a bunch of big monos in my club so lots of experience. You have several ways to go IMO. Several members ran similar-sized hulls on 6S with a 1527/4092 - 1250 Kv motor, speeds were in the high-50s/low-60s depending on prop. Amp draws were around 200 with big props.

Some others have run 41"/44" monos with the Castle 2028 on 10S. Speeds in the upper 60s or higher if desired, amp draw lower so longer run times. This motor is large, but of high quality and can be had for under $200 if you look around. I imagine a TP or Leopard is cheaper. If you want to keep using just 4S packs then 8S and a motor with a Kv around 1000 would work well too. Size around 4092/40102.

One deciding factor could be ESC availability. A SK-180 would probably work well on the 6S version, the others require high voltage controllers. While there is hope, reliable HV controllers remain a crap shoot.

I've got a 42" Twincraft with a 2230 on 10s with a Swordfish 300Pro+, if you want any setup info on it happy to try and help. A few pictures here:
