    adjustable motor mount question

for my next dopey Question, how wide is it? looks like I've got(or rather will have) 3" between stringers...
    Note to Steven
it would be helpful if the motor mount descriptions included footprint demensions :-) thanks

Thanks for posting the picture. A ruler may be a good idea for future item pictures.

I really like this motor mount... I've used it on three projects thus far and it's a really nice product for the price...

If you are going to be using an SV or BJ motor, you'll need to take a file to the inside edges where the bearing support goes... the mount isn't quite wide enough there... Just takes a couple of quick passes...

I also used a Dremel sander to open up the center slot so I could lower the motor down further. Again, doesn't take much...

useful indeed I read it as 2 5/16"...but, I'm not going to quibble over 1/16". main thing is, it will fit the space availible. thanks for the info.
Darin: had in mind a 540 10xl for a 29" wild thing. just have to stop in at the lhs and buy some 1/8" ply(nope not gonna use 1/4" for stringers :-)).

3/16 is plenty enough for stringers.

Be careful how well they conform to the hull bottom. If you use West Systems type epoxy and the stringers don't sit flat the glue will suck the bottom of the hull up to the stringer causing warpage.
