    Battery tray mounting question...

I just received my 2 140mm cf battery trays from Steve and I have a quick mounting question. I guess first I should figure the COG, then mount these trays in the middle of that? Just roughing it in seems I should have went with the 200's. Either way, should I assemble them on the small stantions with some JB Weld, then expoxy them in with the same product? Maybe rough up the inside of the sponson a bit to help adhesion? Lipos also arrived ystrdy, so Im almost ready to go. Thanks.

I use CA to attach the trays to the standoffs, then JB Weld to attach the standoffs to the hull. You could use JB for both. The inside of the hull must be clean, use alcohol or acetone to rub off any film. Hitting it with fine sandpaper won't hurt. Use a minimum of three standoffs. I use both Velcro and battery straps to secure the packs.

Thanks Fluid. As far as the mounting location is concerned, does my reasoning sound ok, or should I shade the trays either fore or aft?

Try to positioning them so that when you move the packs across the trays the CG will shift across the recommended range. They may, or may not, sit at the CG themselves.
