Anti slip tool box material, available from eBay or hardware stores.

With the Naviga rules I race to having a maximum battery weight, and needing to maximise capacity for that weight I can not stick velcro to my batteries any more so I use a combination of battery straps, drawer liner (probably the same as the tool box liner Steven uses, it is a foam rubber coated string mesh) and floatation foam around them to keep them in place.
I think simply putting velcro on the bottom of the battery and in the hull is the best way. It is what I used to do, it is easy, light weight, and secure.

Hey Paul yes we use the same method, either way will work well.

What about velcro on the tray and then "book ends" that velcro to the tray? I think a good strap with anti-slip liner would do best, but sometimes the more the merrier.

I think bookends might be overkill. Consider that the straps are countering the forces trying to pull your battery in every vector away from the tray, but the battery shifting planar to the tray is 100% shear force. You put some quality Velcro between your battery and tray, and you will never see an impact with enough shear force to overcome the Velcro's holding strength...unless you are running over 100mph, and your LiPo's are 8s1p bricks or larger. Then your LiPo's may budge a little in a crash, but that's probably the least of your worries at that point.
