    Motor and prop set up

Hey guys so I am repowering a 37"cat. I was thinking twin 1515 1Y 2200kv castle creations with a pair of 1715s. What are your thoughts?

Nice motors. Sometimes found on sale. Now they are also made with smooth can. Don't know the props, sorry.

Should be a good setup as long as you stay with 4S per motor.

So you think 6s would be to much for saw passes.

I ran a Castle 1515/1Y on 6S for a SAW cat, it worked well. But that was official SAW racing, no more than 3 passes and back to the beach. Rpm was near 40,000 rpm, but these motors will not handle much more that 175 amps, more will just convert the battery energy to heat. I used a Prather P235 prop, set the NAMBA SAW record that year.

Your setup may be just a bit shy of 100 mph. You will need a bit more pitch, exactly what 37, hull are you using? I would use 1915 props, depending on the ESCs and batteries of course.

It is a carbon fiber fightercat shocker. Right now I have seaking 180s in it.
