    Miss Geico Battery Trays

I recently traded a truggy for a miss geico and what I believe to be the V2 version. It didn't have a way to hold down the batteries so my first run I used zip ties to just get the boat out there while my velcro ties were on the way. I received the velcro ties and have them installed but they are too long so I have to modify them. The real question is, is this the easiest way to hold down the batteries. Pro boat certainly didn't provide much room in there to access them even with my small girl hands.

Any recommendations of what to do?

same issue here with my new blackjack .the buckle is toward the inside of boat ,by the time you get a lipo in there and try to strap it your reaching well into an area you cant access very well .even if you do manage to get the velcro down its going to be very hard to undo it .

been thinking about putting the strap in the opposite way so when your pulling it tight your pulling the free end in towards the inside of the boat .

you would pretty much have to leave the free end thru the buckle all the time though this way because the buckle will now be hard to reach .

I use one strap in the middle of each pack and use velcro on the bottom to prevent any sliding, it works for me though can be a PITA at times to break the velcro loose. There are some high end trays available that mount to the pack and then click into the boat, overkill for a geico IMO.

I placed the buckles in the middle of the hull and wrapped the ends of the straps up, over the top of the packs, and out towards the sides of the hull. My fingers were skinny enough to slide in between the deck and the top of the packs to pull them loose after a run. Definitely one of the tighter setups of all my boats

Both my ProBoat BlackJack 24" an my Shockwave 26" came with the straps going into center hull to pull tight. Jest loosen the strap as far as you can without losing the buckle, slide batteries out of strap, exactly as boatsrnew2me was thinking. Batteries are jest a small pain to install an remove thru the straps that way.

The Blackjack 24 and Shockwave 26 are different animals when it comes to battery tray placement. Both of those hulls use single packs and they're not tucked under the side decks like they are on the 29" hulls. I agree though, keeping the loops intact and sliding batteries in and out is helpful.

turned my straps around today so the free end tightens in towards inside of boat . straps are still too long to get good and tight .

I ordered a set of 10 straps from ebay so I could play around with them. Now the challenge is after cutting them finding out what will bond to the fabric.

I use a pool noodle with a pocket cut out for the battery, then another noodle beside to keep in place for the cartwheel dance. works very well for all my cats, (T, Q, P.) I have big man hands so Velcro is not a good option for me , and the noodles slide in and in/out quite easily. If you make the pocket long you can slide the battery forward /back to adjust cog on windy days, put a small piece of foam in front/back to keep in place.
                  Cheers, Jay.

I've shortened velco straps by cutting them and using thick CA glue to bond them back together, I just did this on a 3.3 nitro revo after I converted it to brushless

How did the CA glue hold up?
