Question on TFL Pursuit motor/ESC upgrade

    First post....first question!
I am new to RC boats but quite experienced with all things RC. Float planes, drones and every variety of gas and electric surface vehicle.....but fighting against the resistance of water is new to me!
So I have a TFL Pursuit on order and knew that it wouldn't be fast enough for me within a very short period of time. So I also placed an order with OSE for a Leopard 4074 2200kv with a Seaking 180 v3 along with a few other things....
Question is, is this combo good for sport running on 4s, getting decent speeds and run times, while not burning things up? Was thinking of running an M445. Your input would be appreciated.
    Cheers
    Tim

I run that setup in my Pursuit...very reliable and temps are very reasonable.

Be sure to run 4S2P to give decent run times (figure 6 minutes sport running on 10,000Mah)

Sorry to hijack the thread. I have CNC 44/3 prop. Will it be good for the stock SSS 3660/2070KV and SK 120A ESC on 4s?

I run that setup in one of my Pursuits as well but I would consider it to be more of a racing setup than a sports running setup

Will be this 44/3 prop OK with stock 3660 size 1620kv motor and 12A ESC?

It should be okay but like any alternative prop you will need to try it and see if it's performing well for you. My favorite prop for the stock sss 3660 motor is an Octura M445.

I think you made a typo and are running a 120 amp esc otherwise you are going to set fire to the esc

Ended up cancelling the order for the Pursuit and ordering a Verocity from OSE. I am hoping that the hull issues have been rectified now that this has in production for a while!

Check out the rudder when the boat arrives. Hopefully it has the new break away design with a shear pin. If it doesn't, maybe give Horizon a call and see if they'll send you the revised part.

I will do that! Thank You. I will tear off the hardware and seal up the bolts as soon a I get it...grease her up and giver a go! Should be fun.....looks like it is a good boat to start with!

                          Can you explain the reason?

The "other place" I was ordering the boat from could not fill the order in a timely manner so it was cancelled.
