Is this the motor?

That is a very big boat for 8S (is it 78" or 87"), not many folks have built one on a budget or for low speeds so you won't get much informed input, just a lot of opinions (mine included).
I don't think that 60mm props will be big enough with the limited power/rpm available, 65-70mm will more likely to work. Your rpm on the water will be around 18,000 which is about the same as a gas boat, so use gas boat props. A quality motor the size of the above Turnigy should be able to spin the larger props - but the Turnigys are not Neus or TPs and I don't know how well they will work. At least you have lots of room for batteries.
Good luck with the project!

Hi Fluid yes those are the motors. I bought them two yrs ago when I started this project. I do use TP motors in my boats now. I have them in my sv-43 knockoff and some in my MHz silverhook. both will fly. I used the sv-43 setup on my 45 inch xcat that weighed 18 pounds. got it upto 40. the bigger props will help. twin gas would give me 50-60. so hope to get the same from this setup. if not I will go with tp 56mm motors. is there a place to post plans on the forum?? I have xcat, twister cat, f1 and silverhook plans I am willing to share. just a thought. thank you for your input. with the bigger props will I have any heat issues on the esc?? 87 inches. my ww1 U-boat is 78??Comment

Your thread title says 78" but your first post says 87". Confusing...
I have no personal experience with the Ettis, and no experience with a boat that large, so I can't tell you what the amp draw will be. I would start with low pitch 65mms, but that is just a guess. I do know that my Scorpion 4035/850 on 8S pushed a 43" cat well with a 68 mm prop and pulled under 120 amps. But that is a lot different than a 87" boat with twins.
Great idea to share plans with the site members. You could post them in the build section for a start.
BTW I would love to see you Unterseeboot.
