    REVIEWS? TFL Integrated Drive

So these things have been around several months now. I'm looking for some reviews.
Any unworkable issues, declined speed, or anything else worth sharing?

I'm planning on installing one of this in a carbon fiber Pursuit over the winter and would rather not drill that big hole necessary if I'm not going to be happy with it. I will be running the boat in a NAMBA P-Limited Mono Class.

Any knowledge and/or advice would be greatly appreciated.

I was curious to know if you can slap a 40 series motor on it.

Any motor that bolts to the standard 25.4mm bolt pattern, and that uses a 5mm shaft, will fit. You may have to open up the center hole on the mounting plate in order clear the bearing carrier for the front bearing on motors that have it extending, but otherwise, it should bolt on.

Can't speak for how much weight it can handle, but it's a pretty solidly built unit. Just take care when bolting it all together and keep it lubed and it should provide good service!

Manufacture and OSE do not recommend over 36mm motor.
The following is on the OSE site with the item.
"We recommend no larger than a 36mm diameter x 60mm long motor. Any larger could damage the flex cable or parts."

I would think this is a weight issue.
Thus, I would think that if you could rig up some sort of supported tall-ring you could probably give the 40mm motors a shot.

Looks like no one with experience with the integrated drive chimed in. I'm curious to hear how people like this system.

I have one installed in a DF 29" running 36X61 sixe motors. It is a stout unit that could take a 1415 motor easily. The 40mm's may not work depending on hull clearance. Only downside I see is to remove and lube the shaft, or pull the motor, the coupler set screws are tough to get at. I like the rearward position of the motor and room in front of it to move batteries around for CG balance. One hole in the transom make rigging very easy, eliminating a motor mount and stuffing tube. performance is no different than a stinger surface drive on the transom
