    Ariane 51"

    I have ordered this boat.

I can see a lot of youtube video of the Ariane 36"..Any surgestions for the 51".. ? I am thinking speeds about 70-80 mph. And a 18-20 s. setup, (flier esc 22s.).

Hmm. Ordered the TP 5870/7Y/415 kv. It is rated 156A. So should be ok for props in the +70-75mm range at 18s. But think it is also ok to for crusing at 12s, (50 mph) 65mm and 25-30 A average draw.

Did you order this motor from the USA site? If so, be prepared for a wait. This is a custom built motor, and IMHO a bit overkill for your hull. Never the less you'll never look back and say; I wish I had bought something bigger. I ordered a 5670 for a 45" mono 5 weeks ago, ---- still waiting. Welcome to the forums, and good luck with your build!

UPDATE: After prodding, TPmotorsUSA emailed and said I should have my motor sometime next week. That's 8 weeks,---- Oh, and the water jacket should be here by Christmas,

I ordered the 5860 5y 650kv 4 weeks ago and got a your package has shipped 5 days ago but it still hasn't shipped. Nevs, the 5y should be pleanty for that boat on 10s to 12s and be able to run gas size props. 18s is just asking for trouble from the controller.

Hi. I ordered the motor from TPeurope. Last time I ordered. it took 23 days from order to delivery. They only ship every 14 days.
@MarkF Are you sure that the Flier 22s ESC will have problems on 18s ? I was thinking, that with 18s I could go for only 1P 18s/4-5000 mah/60c instead of 12s 2P and higher kv.

No I'm not sure, but I ran a lot of the old flier esc on 16, 20 and 24s and they worked 4 or 5 times and then quit. The new ones might be ok. I guess you will find out for us:)

Almost done with my boat. TP forgot the cooling jacket. It's 90% done. Just have a few things left to do.

I ran the boat today without the cooling jacket and it did pretty good. I tried a 6516 3 blade and it swung it no problem. I did 4 laps and brought it in to check motor temp and it was just starting to get a little hot. Not bad since it had no water jacket on. The speed was that of any gas boat Iv'e seen and should do very well with a 7016 3 blade prop. This should put me a little faster than the gas guys which was my goal. I did a total of 9 laps on a set up course in total and my packs were at 3.88 per cell and that was on 10,000 mah. Again very happy to see it's not an amp hog. I ran my sf 300 for 7 of the laps then I put in the castle 160. In 2 laps it wasn't even warm. So I got a good feeling about the castle. But time will tell. I'm going to run again on Sunday with the gas guys and borrow some 70mm props to try. I'm going to leave the castle in for the day and see how it does.

Yes 650 on Dinogy 10s 2p. I used 4 - 5s 5000 65c packs and made 2 10s packs with them. I also made a 10s 12,000 pack out of the new dinogy graphene 70c 5s 6000 packs. I will use these for the offshore class the gas guys let us race in.

mark, do you feel that a castle 240 would handle that motor in a rigger on 10-s 10,000 mah.?

I have no idea but I should think so. I got the logging off the esc. It said 200 amp high with a 45 amp average. This is with a 6516 3 blade so I will get another reading when I run the 7016 3 blade this weekend.
