lipo getting hot/ loss of power

I ran a 4s 5000mah 20c with 2700kv L series motor / aquacraft 45amp esc . It ran a half lap then slowed down . I brought it in and the battery was a 135 degrees after one lap I did not run bec. I used a 440 3 blade prop . Just before that I ran a 3s flightpower and it ran fine then I used the maxamps 4s.

When you run it again, once it happens check the voltage on the pack... Maxamps sometimes fail and for some reason or another don't keep their charge.
That's one way of isolating the batteries to see if they are the problem.

That motor is probably drawing more than 45 amps on 4s and the speed control is shutting down. Your battery temps seem to be reasonable. If you want to run 4s you will probably have to get a ESC with a higher amp rating. Your other option is to get the SV27 motor and run that on 4s and you should not have any problems.

I'm sorry, but LiPo temperatures of 135F after less than one minute of running is absolutely NOT reasonable. There is a major problem somewhere, either the packs are junk or there is a huge short somewhere. If the ESC still functions then it is probably a battery problem. If your FlightPower packs still run fine for several minutes, then send the MaxAmp packs back to the maker to be checked.
