Winter Project, TFL P1 Drive-Old Dumas Mono...

I just got one of the TFL P1 outdrives, i must say it is a beautiful little gem!! Hope it runs as good as it looks! I'm going to mount the drive/motor system on the back of this older Dumas mono, it's about 30" or so long and i've always like the somewhat scale look of the hull. I plan to run 4S, but i will take it real easy on the drive and not abuse it. I really don't care how fast it goes, just want to have fun with the old hull. Only real issue i have with setting up this hull with the drive unit is that the transom is angled back, it's not 90* perpendicular to the bottom, so i have to come with an angled collar to fit the around the drive mount to get it to mount right (i had to make a bunch of cheesy shims to mount the rudder and stinger when i originally set this boat up as an FE, didn't work out so well). It will be a slow project for the coming winter months, hope to have it ready to run by the spring!

Ah yes, all of the winter projects are ramping up. I absolutely love those out drives. It makes the model look so much like the real thing.

MichaelM, i hope it performs as good as it looks and is durable, i'm not going to abuse but i plan on running 4S with it eventually. It's a gorgeous unit, the machine looks great (i'm a machinist at work so that means something to me), we'll see what happens, can't wait to run it!
Fweasel, yup, that's exactly why i bought the drive, love the scale look!!

Actually been working on it a little earlier than i planned but i had the time so i made an angled mount to get the drive level on the angled transom, then cut the hole and mounted it up! Now i just have to repaint the transom and get all the electronics in it (which i don't have yet).
