    VXP rc racing motors

Have any of you bought and used the VXP racing motor series? I'll be a little more specific. They claim that their: VX 4484 BL ...1000kv. motor upgrade is much faster that the typical 40 series motors by Leopard, tppower, sss, etc. Does anyone have any experience using them? They also make a VXP racing 56 series BL motor(1200kv) as well. It comes in 85 or 95mm length. I would also like to get an opinion about this motor.

      Pricey motors too.

At 1000kv it is a lot less kv than the original Spartan motor so they are suggesting running it on 8s or 10s.

But... they are only rated to 1850w continuous, & 2800w max.
The 4050 (4082) size TP motors they are comparing them to, are rated to 2350w continuous & 5000w max.

So the TP wins hands down there for me.

But the cost to my door will be AU$242.00.
Whereas the TP will cost me AU$138.00.

      I don't think I would buy one.
See the danger. THEN DO IT ANYWAY!!!

I agree on your points on the smaller motor(4484) especially since you would need to run 8s-10s to get the maximum potential out of it. I also think that they want you to buy their bigger 270-300 esc's to power your boat to the limit with their merchandise. I think it's a pricey and risky investment. I was more interested in their 56 series motor at 1200kv. 85-95mm in length. On my present 45" super mono, I have tried both a Leopard 56110(615kv) motor and a 5680(950kv) tp power motor with mixed results. The Leopard tops out in the low 60's and the tp motor in the low 70's. I used a Prather 265 prop with a 300 s.f. esc. I used 2(7s) batteries to hit 71.6mph on a test run. Does anyone think that the VXP 56 series motor can out perform either the Leopard or tp motors? I'm very tempted to order one and make some comparisons.

If you increase the Kv over 50% and only see a 10 mph increase, something is very wrong with your setup. Either the boat is running too wet or you did not reduce the prop size between motors. Tell us your exact setups for both motors and your exact hull. Changing motor brands will be a waste of money and will not solve your speed problems.

Not sure if this is constructive, but VXP is just a name that I completely disregard.. Everything they have is generic with a price tag double of what it should be. My particular example are with the props. Fancy trickery isn't cool.

If you are looking for a motor upgrade, you can check here on OSE for real no bs information and specs.
