    cordite ss1 in sv

I'm converting a sv hull and hardware to a brushed set up for my 8 year old son. I had the hull sitting around since I pulled the esc and motor out for another project (drifter S) and my son was needing an upgrade from his kyosho twinstorm so I put a jeti esc and a cordite ss1 motor in it. I know very little about this set up since I'm a brushless guy so is there anything I should know about the set up ? How many cell 12 or 14 and props to try? I'm hoping it's slower than a stock sv and faster than his twin storm so he can learn in steps. I know it will handle alot better and that was the one thing that will help him. Any input would help. Thanks

I had a 700 SC with a jetti in my kyosho hurricane cat for a while and it ran very well with 12 cells and a detongued X645. Speeds were in the mid 20's with the stock drive.

      perfect

That would be perfect speed and I thought a cf45 might work good.

We used to run 12 cells and a m447 on our brushed 700 mono's with great results :)

Last years SAW, the LSO record was around 44mph with an SC700 (SS1 equivalent)...
that is not a weak motor... Jim Vaughn used 12cells and the cat was flying!

best prop on my LSO with 700SC has been a detounged P230. A detounged P225 is another good one that gives more runtime but still quite a good speed.

                props

                Hi
AS you can tell ,a lot of props will work for this power and hull. If you want to keep it cheap the k45 is ideal. Not as fast as some but will run the boat in about the speed you were looking for.

                  thanx

Thanks for all the input and will try it out tomarrow and let you know how it goes. I think my son is going to be real happy with it.
