      How should it be on dowel? V or /\ ?

        It should be like the small letter T. You put the middle of the boat the way it would float in the water on top of the middle of the dowel. I don't know how else to explain it. The V should be down. Realize that it will not balance left and right. You are looking for the balance front to back at 30% COG from the back.
