    Wiring help BEC to RX

Hey guys, just need a little help on wiring to get power to my RX.

I have a BEC with the power leads soldered to the ESC battery wires, and have cut the red wire from the ESC to the RX.
Now normally I would put the plug from BEC in the RX location marked BATT, but my Spektrum SR3300T doesnt have one, its got RPM, TEMP, LAP, AUX, THR, STR and BIND/RS. So I'm not sure how to power the RX, anyone help me out?

    Thanks.

are you planning on using this in a boat?, if so I would suggest using a spekky MR200 or 3000 series receiver.
someone correct me if I am mistaken but this appears to be an early first generation DSM rx ? . if it is every time I've tried to run an early DSM receiver in a boat all it did was lead to headaches, signal losses and boat retrievals

Hi mate, yes it's going in my boat. The receiver is about 2 years old. Has the fancy telemetry system on it. Afraid I don't know what DSM is. You think down grade to something simpler? I read on another forum that I can put the BEC into the AUX on the 3300 to power it... I don't know if this is true or not.

I just checked, its a Spekky DX3S system. It does say DSM on the box, is this bad?

the Telemetry stuff might be fun to play with if your radio is compatible to use it, but the receiver itself is still a surface receiver designed for ground vehicles not boats on the water. since you have a Spektrum radio already you need to get a spectrum Marine receiver designed for boats like the MR200 or MR3000. you really only need two channels for a boat, one for the throttle and the other for the steering anything else is just extra to play with, but the Marine receivers are clearly marked and will plug right in

I always wanted to try a receiver that was compatible with my DX4s that supported telemetry. From what I read at the time I had to use an older receiver.

I had absolutely no troubles using my old non-marine DX3S, and SR3300T in a boat, heck back then it was all they had. Still use it for my buggy's. Mind you I rarely went more than 150 yards. IIRC, when I used the sensors, I fed the receiver
              power with the bind plug.

Of the 3 pins in a receiver's servo sockets only the signal on the left (white, yellow or orange) is separate electrically, the positive in the middle (red) and the negative on the right (black or brown) are on busses which run through all the servo sockets, the BEC or batt socket if there is one, and the bind socket if there is one.

This is pretty much universal for all RXs from all manufacturers in the recent past, although I am aware that there are some vintage sets that don't conform to this I am unaware of any 21st century set that doesn't.

in your specific case you can plug your BEC into any of the Aux, Thr, Str, or Bind/RS ports not being otherwise used, or via a "Y" lead to one that is being used. Just DON'T connect it to one of the 3.3v telemetry sensor sockets (quite why they used 3.3v and the same pin spacing for these I am not sure, as it seems like it is asking for trouble to me).

Plug the connector from the BEC into the AUX and then plug the ESC into the throttle channel. I have used separate BEC units in some of my planes and never had a problem with them. Normally I don't cut the power lead from the RSC. I remove it from the connector, fold it back and either tape it or use heat shrink to keep it in place.
You may want to use that ESC in the future for something else and then you will have a nice little job of soldering 22 ga. wire back together.
One other thing....I have noticed on Horizon Hobby's website that there appears to be very few two, and three channel receivers for marine use. They seem to have vanished.
