so I have a proboat bj26 motor in my shovel and the club class limit is a 40mm prop...seems ok for speed w/ a 640, but methinks there is more potential. looking for a prop suggestion or two. tia

Maybe get in touch with andy brown or dasboata(cant remember if he does small props) and get them to do you a 40mm prop. They will be able to cup and shape the prop to what you need.
We run a Shovel with a 9XL (1800kv) on 4s / 12cells
We found that a x440/3 is the best prop to run as the boat is very quick but always comes back cool after a 5 lap race.
The Proboat motor being a slightly lower KV, you might get away with a x442/3
Rex, get the M series... it comes already detonged.
I'd suggest an M440 or an M445... if you get the 45 then you have the choice to cut it back if it seems too much and you feel that the 40 is too little.
I'd stick with 2 blades, they spin faster.
:::::::::::::::. It's NEVER fast enough! .:::::::::::::::
right, tested 3 40mm props k40, 440/3, and a 640 of those 3 the 640 is fastest. today I tryed a 645...oooo that was nice, boat was riding as it should(sponsons taking turns on the water), fast. motor was 107F after 8 laps(1 mile). now I just need to find an equivelent prop.
I have never been able to get the 937 to work but I was using it on a high rpm open motor class. They just have too much lift. I don't know if you will match the speed of a m645 but cupping up a m640 will get you close.
