    Graupner U-Joint Trouble

I purchased a set of graupner 4mm u-joints for my villain ex from OSE store. Upon recieving them, I noticed that they are much shorter than my stock u-joints. I mocked up one of the graupners and it changed the trim angle of the outdrive significantly. So much that trimming the outdrive all the way up will still not compensate for the difference in length. It seems as if the boat would not even get up on plane with this trim angle. Has anyone else encountered this problem? Is it possible that I was sent the wrong length u-joints? The graupners measure 1.4 inches compared to the stock 1.59 inches Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Alot.

The fix is to buy the correct U joints from traxxas or off of ebay. Why would you think that they would fit in the first place?

Why? Maybe because it is advertised in the OSE store that they would work for the villain outdrives! Can anyone else be of some help?

My bad. my thoughts here are to loosed the shaft in the outdrive and remove the nut and prop and also the motor collar and see if you can get enough length to make it work.

If the U/J is attached to the shafts with grubscrews why don'y you simply make up the difference in length with thin spacers or washers ?
The centre of the U/J must remain in the correct position so add thin washers to both ends.
            Just my 2 cents worth.
