Nothing wrong with a good Mega S4 motor. It's like a classic hot rod - no reason to change. I have a Plettenberg too. No sure what to do with it.

Once I started buying Hacker and Lehner brushless motors, I never looked back to brushed. After that is was electric planes and helis and now I have a garage full of brushless motors.

Exactly my point. Nostalgia is kool ,but reality checks in. Funny before I spotted your thread,I had the motor in my hand wondering if anyone still used them. I have no use for it anymore myself because of the Lehners and Hackers also. If you want or possibly need another be in touch.Still like new.Thanks.

I'm hoping someone here can help me with tuning of this old boat. I have it balanced at close to 20% in this video. Notice in the video how it randomly diggs the bow down for no apparent reason? Notably at the 00:44 thru 00:49 second mark.

It probably needs some up-trim but the batteries are way aft already. Is it a lifting prop thats lifting the stern up and making the bow dig?

I wonder if you picked up some weeds or something? With that steerable outdrive when you turned you maybe lost any weeds? I have the same hull and mine was running wet like you see at 00:44, I had to move my trim tabs up on the transom so they were about 1/8" above the bottom of the transom. That really freed up my hull, here is my running video.

Also, it's hard to see the actual angle of your trim tabs, they should be pretty much parallel to the bottom of the hull, see pics

It looks to be running wet, as you were thinking trim it up a bit and that should help with the bow steer issue. It is just a matter of tuning and trying.

Still runs wet even with dive trimmed way up. Really weird.... Here is a cool pic though..
