Special thanks to diegoboy i couldn't have done it without you......lol!!!
I still have a lot of tweaking and tuning to do, this is just the rough fun runs. If you didn't catch the gps readings at the end the k40 ran 49.6 and the octura x440 ran 50.1

Edit: Doby I couldn't agree more. I live in bayou country USA surrounded by water, this is just my wife's uncles back yard

              tth,
I also have one of those hulls, though not running it on 8xl anymore I still love it.
It does sound to me that the prop is not unwinding all the way, as I remember,
this fella on 4s is a screamer.
The fact that you have it already going +-50mph is great, but there is room to grow.
              =)
              good job man.

Thanks jan i was also thinking of octura x637 x937 or maybe using a 10xl motor and larger prop. I was always told hydros like lg props.

I would try an Octura v937/3 before changing motors.

actually, I tried the 937/3 it's too much prop for running around.
the 637 the equipment liked a lot... but I am not sure that it'll give you more speed then you are seeing now, worth a try... but it'll unwind for sure... that is the prop I was using (detongued, s/b).
Right now I was testing it with the SV setup and an M445 prop w/o strut... it looks pretty!
not quite as fast as the 8XL but it surely ain't a slouch.

He ran a 40mm prop, how is a 37mm too much?

it's too much pitch.... he ran a K40 which if I am not mistaken has a 1.4 pitch... the V937/3
                        has 1.9 pitch.

The pitch of a prop represents the distance that the prop would travel in a forward direction when turned once.
                          A v937/3 is 2.812" pitch
                          An x440 is 2.198" pitch
                          A k40 os 2.20" pitch
                          V9 are moderate lift props
                          X4 are medium lift props

More pitch, less diameter, I don't think it's too much

I got to run the v937 today it bounced the back end a lot. I guess i need to adjust the strut angle. Speed was 46.3 mph.
